“We know that children grow and change at different rates. What a child may not have been ready for yesterday, he or she may be ready for today. We continually reassess our students’ needs and opportunities, helping them discover talents and skills they didn’t know they had.”

Thrive.

Every child is on a unique and valid path.
We’re here to help them draw the map.

At Yellow Wood Academy, we believe every child deserves the opportunity to thrive. Every student deserves:

  • A teacher who understands her style.
  • A customized curriculum that meets his needs.
  • A team dedicated to helping each student find his or her path to success.

At Yellow Wood, we see the whole child. And that makes all the difference.

Custom-designed instruction for each child.

The student-teacher relationship is the heart of the Yellow Wood program. Every student has a customized learning plan. Students can move quickly through areas where they excel. And they get extra support where they need it most. While most instruction is provided on a one-to-one basis, we offer opportunities for group learning too.

Competence leads to confidence.

Many young people just don’t fit into the traditional school model. Yellow Wood fits the curriculum to the student—not the other way around. Instead of defining limitations, we see opportunities to learn.

A K-12 school and more!

Students come to Yellow Wood for many reasons. Many students need additional support or opportunities to learn in a way that better fits their needs, interests, and abilities.

Whether they enroll for a full-day comprehensive program, a high school diploma, courses for credit (including AP® or honors-level courses), College Board test preparation, or tutoring, Yellow Wood students quickly gain the skills and confidence they need to thrive.
